Rev. Dr. Russell Daye
Russ Daye has been a United Church minister for 20 years. He has served churches in Quebec and outport Newfoundland and was overseas personnel in Fiji, where he worked on a national reconciliation program. In 2002 Russ received a Ph.D. in Comparative Religion from Concordia University for his research on South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He has taught at theological colleges in Montreal, Halifax, and Fiji. One of his passions is reconciliation with aboriginal peoples. Another is time in nature - hiking, paddling, or camping in the mountains or desert. Much of his fun these days happens with his sons, Sam and Will, who are aspiring soccer players and accomplished mischief makers.
Martha Martin - Minister of Education and Care
Martha Martin is a Diaconal Minister, a graduate of the Centre for Christian Studies. She came to St. Andrew's as Minister of Education in 2006 after 11 years in Campus Ministry. She also brings experience working in congregational ministry, specifically in youth and family ministry, and in planning and leading programs at Tatamagouche Centre. Most recently she completed the two year Atlantic Jubilee Program in Spiritual Guidance through Tatamagouche Centre. She lives in Halifax with her spouse Pat, a CBC Recording Engineer, and young adult daughter Alana. Martha is also the United Church Chaplain at the Multifaith Centre at Dalhousie University. Kevin Parks - Music Director
Kevin Parks has been a church music leader in the Maritimes, Ontario and British Columbia. The United Church has been his spiritual home for over 15 years. Kevin has given music leadership at various Conference and Presbytery events and is a former Convenor of the United Church Association
of Musicians in Maritime Conference. His diverse musical interests include jazz, spirituals, folk and global genres as well as the traditional church choral repertoire spanning Renaissance to 21st Century composers. Kevin obtained the Bachelor of Music focusing in organ performance and choral conducting from Mount Allison University. He lives in Head of St. Margaret's Bay where he and his partner, Dana, operate a music instruction studio and get involved in their three children's sport and artistic pursuits.
